Insurance for individual players

Instruments are expensive and costly to replace so taking a chance and not insuring them is not an option. Neither is adding them to a house contents insurance !

Musical instruments need to be insured on a specially designed policy and that is why BBIS have for more than 40 years been issuing special musical instrument policies on behalf of AVIVA one of the country`s leading insurers.

Every BBIS Music Master policy provides cover for "any accident" or "any misfortune" including theft, accidental damage or loss. Unlike many other insurances it does not matter whether the instrument is owned by a professional, amateur or student musician and provided the sum insured reflects it then cover is new for old. Music Master covers the instruments anywhere in the UK, be it home, college or concert hall and, provided the instrument is not simply being stored in an unattended vehicle, then it is covered whilst in a properly secured unattended vehicle. The instruments are even covered when in Europe and certain close countries without any extra premium being charged.

What is not covered is also very simple and straightforward. Wear and tear, or the breakage of strings or a brittle substance is excluded and whilst the instrument is left in any place of public entertainment unless handed to the proprietor for safe keeping. We also ask you pay a small excess of £15 off any claim settlement.

REMEMBER;
UNLIKE YOUR HOUSE CONTENTS INSURER YOUR BBIS POLICY IS PROBABLY CHEAPER, HAS NO USE RESTRICTIONS, DOES NOT EXCLUDE VEHICLE COVER AND HAS MUCH LOWER EXCESSES IF IT COMES TO MAKING A CLAIM.
